Kirkum Farm

DELTA, OHIO

committed to raising healthy animals, promoting agriculture, and serving our community for over 25 years.

Kirkum Farm is a small family-owned and operated flock of Hampshire, Suffolk, and crossbred sheep in Northwest Ohio. What began as a 4-H project over 25 years ago has become a flock that provides project animals for local 4-H & FFA members, replacement ewes for other producers, and delicious mild-flavored meat for local consumers.

Kirkum Farm operates on the principle that healthy sheep produce healthy high-quality meat. We believe that it is our duty to provide the highest-quality animal welfare possible using ethical and humane methods. Each animal in our flock is fed a diet that is individually tailored to his or her specific energy and health needs. These nutrition plans include pasture grasses, high-quality grains, alfalfa hay, and the occasional apple or pear as a treat.

None of our animals are ever given growth hormones and are only given antibiotics when medically necessary.

Many farms will tell you that their sheep are 100% pasture-raised, “as God intended”. As stewards of the land and the animals in our care, we find that our animals are happier and less stressed when allowed to come and go from pasture to barn as they wish during daylight hours. At sundown, all animals are brought into the barn in order to protect them from area predators.
